Lee Roy Selmon blends the benefits of a football scholarship within his family with community service. Selmon is the youngest of children of Lucious Selmon and Jessie Selmon, who raised him on the farm they owned in Eufala. Two soccer. He is among the three brothers that participated in the football team of Oklahoma. All three were All-Americans. Lucious Jr. Dewey & Lee Roy started for one season in 1973. Lee Roy is the winner of both Outland Awards and Lombardi Awards. He was one of the top linemen in all of the nation. In the three years that Roy played as a player, Oklahoma won two National Championships. In 1975, he was awarded the third scholarship of his career and was recognized as a National Football Foundation scholar-athlete. Selmon earned a degree in education. Fourth-year service in the college Lee Roy devoted ten hours every week for volunteer activities. After college, he moved to Tampa and played nine years for the Buccaneers. He was an All-Pro 3 times. Then he started his professional career. In 1988, while working as an account representative at First Florida Bank of Tampa and worked for the Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. It's no wonder in 1982, the Junior Chamber of Commerce named him as one of the country's 10 outstanding young males. Lee Roy stood 6-2 in size and weighed in at 256 pounds when he was a student athlete. He played for the team of 1975. In 1993 he joined at the University of South Florida as associate director of athletics. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1988, and the GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame in 1994 and the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1995. The Oklahoma City Chapter of the National Football Foundation in 1989 presented their Distinguished American Award to his parents Mr. and Mrs.. Lucious Selmon Sr. Henry Bellmon is the Oklahoma governor, who presented this award.
